History

First publication: Fantastic Adventures, April 1940

Review

Much more of an ordinary pulp adventure, but further realizing the world of Meg the Priestess, a far future United States. I’m not sure if any other such post-WW3 stories were published before this one, but this I think is the first to really dig in and realize the societies that might come to exist. Many other such stories were written after this. Some better, some not. But this second story is a bit disappointing because it is too much a standard pulp adventure. Still, it was enjoyable. By itself I might say skip it, but coupled with the first in the series I recommend it.
