Synopsis

Speculation about the form that man will evolve to in the distant future.

History

First publication: Pall Mall Gazette, November 6, 1893

Review

This is the most remarkable of Wells’ early essays, being a speculation into Man of the far future. His imagination knows no bounds and he crafts a vision that would inform The Time Machine, as well as serve as inspiration for many SF stories in the 1930s. Recommended and brilliant.
