History
First publication: The Terminal Beach, Gollancz, June 1964
1965 Nebula finalist for best short story.
Review
An excellent story which somehow reminds me of the fish on the beach from Hemingway’s Old Man and the Sea. Much anthologized and very well written, but I feel there are better works from Ballard. still, recommended.
