Review
It seems to have been inspired by real illustrations in an old book that Lovecraft saw. The story is typical Lovecraft,a chieving his mature style. This also has the first mention of Arkham and the Miskatonic River. Old houses in rural settings, old men, old books—all images that we associate with Lovecraft. A very good horror story and recommended if horror is for you.
