Synopsis
While her parents are throwing a party, a young girl has a near fatal accident. This seems to cloud the rest of her families’ lives.

Review
Oates is never easy to digest, but her writing is always a joy to read. This story starts with a traumatic event, but it really is more about how families can drift apart over time, and that in many ways they seem to never be together to begin with. I've yet to read a story by Oates that I wouldn’t recommend.
