Review
One wins. One loses. As seems typical, this digs into the sub-conscious thoughts of a woman , “K.”, and her feelings of being on the outside of the whole class. Oates has a talent for getting into people’s minds and writing that inner story with all of the fleeting thoughts, associations, feelings and rationalizations that constantly go through a person’s mind. This is a good and enjoyable story.
