Review
This early work by Clarke has shades of 2001 in it's old race before man that prepared for man to succeed and go to the stars. It also reminds me of the Keller novel The Human Termites. The style and ideas in the story are pure 1930’s pulp SF. The combinations make this story simple yet interesting. Not a great story, but recommended for anyone who loves Clarke’s work.
