Review
While not a great novel, this is a bit better than the average space adventure of the time. Heinlein’s juvenile space adventures were better, but this is not bad. We follow a young man as he slowly questions his loyalty to Earth and learns about the independence movement on Alpha Centauri IV. The character growth is pretty good, though maybe a little too easy, not enough inner conflict or external danger to really force the change in his loyalty. The planet having a dinosaur animal population sort of lacks imagination. Overall though, this was enjoyable.
