Beings that live on stars encounter solid matter for the first time.

Review
Admittedly this story has very little plot and character. It is little more than a scientific discussion. But the scientists are beings that evolved inside stars. We tend to think of life as needing an earth-like situation. Why couldn’t life evolve under extremely different environments? Hal Clement did a masterful job of thinking about this. The only negative here is we don’t get to learn more about this civilization on the Sun.
