Synopsis
Charles Bennett worked for Herm Cressman at the Deepwater Cafe. Charles was slow and came from a poor family. Herm used that fact to abuse Charles.

Review
This story has more relation to Ellison’s gang stories than to his speculative fiction. The characters are well created. The story is maybe a bit too predictable, but still an excellent story.
